An update.
Our elder son made it safely to London, according to text just received, "Arrived Heathrow. Stuffed". Yes, I guess that's an adequate description of how you feel after travelling half way around the world. My admiration for the guys who made flying possible knows no bounds. If it was up to me, flying, radio and TV would never have been invented. I'd have said it was impossible. I always marvel at the ingenuity of man when I'm on one of those planes. And am just a little humbled.
Younger son arrived safely back in Brisbane too. He hasn't been driving long, so there's always that little bit of apprehension when he leaves. That's life, I know. He has to flutter those tiny wings without over protective parents looking over his shoulder. Some things are just so precious though, aren't they.

Nothing like parents that love their kids so much either :)
"Stuffed" is such a descriptive word - I love it but don't use it nearly enough.
A guy out of our office flew home for his mother's birthday this w/end. He left DC on Wednesday - gets to Melbourne Friday, mother's birthday Saturday, leaves Melbourne Monday and gets back to DC Monday night. Now that boy is going to be stuffed!!!!!!! (he has the advantage of only being 23 though).
Beautifully put. :) It's endearing when children don't understand why parents have such concern for their welfare. They understand when they have their own though. ;) Full circle.
glad both your boys are safe, snowy. :)
