Baz's movies are always over the top - it is his style. It is entertainment.
hmmm....don't think I'll be busting my boiler to see it. I've never liked Kidman's delivery and while I do appreciate Jackman, I can't see myself sitting through yet another Australidrama. Can't we make movies in this country without resorting to glorifying "the outback"?

That movie runs for a long time Snowy - you would've had to wear your Depends that day!

That's why they released it in summer, Cat. Also explains why it's not doing so well in the U.S.
Glad you both enjoyed it Snowy - we enjoyed to too. I think some people must have been expecting something different to what Baz delivered. I didn't have a problem with the some what over the top initial scenes when "upper class English lady snob" lands in the outback - it was theatre and I found it amusing and isn't part of the Aussie culture being able to laugh at ourselves and not take ourselves too seriously. I think the critics need to lighten up.

Our outback is beautiful, why not show it off.
I thought the review here was spot on, Chezza.
Totally spot on Snowy, thank you for bringing it to my attention. So nice to have someone review it who actually has a heart and soul.
