Happy Birthday to me.

A mere babe in the woods!

Any other big plans, over and above studied Quantum Physics, that is?

Well, I've been wondering whether there's a demand for rocket scientists, MT. I don't want to waste all that time and money on a degree if there's no job at the end of it...

I'm with Hawking: let's find another suitable planet. This one's toast.
Happy birthday, Snowy!

Life is always too short, but I´d like to read your thoughtful posts for another 30 years!

Nah, let's do it properly, and find another universe...

Thanks Snowwhite. The thirty years will be dependent on how long my whisky stash holds out, but I'll do my best...
You better get cracking those books!
You have pre-empted all the things I had organised for next week.
If you are starting the celebrations a week early you will be in no fit condition to appreciate the momentous occasion itself. Build your innings slowly Snowy.

We will all start a "retirement fund" for you to ensure 30 more years of whiskey supply.

That's very kind of you, GOF. I'm told whisky is a good preservative. That's the only reason I drink it, you know...

Happy early birthday! And I think you've got a pretty good jump already on that whole learning thing... ;)
yikes snow, you made my heart skip a beat then, because if its your birthday soon that means its emjays birthday soon, which means I'd better rustle up a present and get it in the mail to the US!
Thanks, PP. Yes, I'm looking forward to life as an adult.

yikes snow, you made my heart skip a beat

I know, Cat. I have that effect on women. Its been the curse of my life...

Way to go, Snow! Wish you many more and much happiness along the way.
Jeez - and here I've been watching the mail every day!

I have books on my list too Snowy - though not quite as cerebral as your selection.

I'm sure we will both have a wonderful day next week.....
Happy Early Birthday!! Love the books selections - can't wait to read about your discoveries :)
Thanks, k911.
I'm sure we will, too, Emjay.
Thanks, A. Stay tuned.
Happy birthday. I hope you have many more.
You're only as old as you act! ;) ...or was that feel? Eh, act can be more fun.
I have to agree with you about learning more about life through Patricia's book. I bet that one is going to be really good
Ahh, congratulations Snowy. I wish you all the very best for at least the next 30 years. Keep well. Keep whisky. ;)
Thanks L. Me too...

I have to agree with you about learning more about life through Patricia's book

Especially if we can convince her to write the uncensored version. ;o)

Keep well. Keep whisky. ;)

Thanks PG. Aren't they the same thing?

But of course! Would it be too forward to ask which is your tipple? Answers of "That one on the table in front of me" or versions* thereof will not be appreciated :D

* apologies for poor grammar - my mind is blank probably due to sleep deprivation and I couldn't think of a better word.

Would it be too forward to ask which is your tipple?

By choice: Balvenie Doublewood 12 or Talisker single malt.

By economic necessity: Grants.

Ohh superb, Talisker is beautiful. Johnnie Walker Green Label when I had money, that's where it would all go.

I've never had the pleasure of Balvenie Doublewood, I will look out for it though, and raise a glass in honour of your birthday!
Thanks. I first tried Talisker and Balvenie in Inverness last year. We even visited the Talisker distillery on Skye. One of my daughter's friends gifted me a bottle of Balvenie. We drank it in Manchester. I'll tell you the story about that if I ever remember it.

When I tried to buy a bottle here I discovered it was over $90 a bottle. I've been throwing out broad hints for a bottle on my birthday, but falling on deaf ears I suspect. If I crack the jackpot, I'll be toasting your health, also.
