So fucking typical. I most definitely plan on sharing this...thanks for posting it, Snowy. Check out my sister's blog (prairieplains here on Vox) for another most excellent--and telling--video.

P.S. How is it that an Australian is more adroit that at least half the American population when it comes to this crap?

No idea. If it's any consolation we have the same percentage of drones here.

That's depressing. No consolation there, Snowy.

You'd be amazed at the "liberal media bias" everyone bitches about here. If anyone reports anything that appears anti-establishment, anti-American, anti-W, they're labeled as "liberal media" and their reportage is considered suspect. Facts are no longer facts after this label has been applied. People seem unwilling to question anything.

On the other hand, I'm a Noam Chomsky fan: I think dissension is patriotic.

The conservatives spend a lot of money brainwashing people. It just continues from one election to another, and it pays off for them. Murdoch is the biggest offender. It gives me no pleasure that he's Australian. Or was. He's now American. Lucky you.

Yeah, ha ha, lucky me.

At times like this, I want to move to Canada. Or Norway. I might have said Australia, but now you've helped me remove that one from the list.

We did manage to kick the bastards out last election, so there's hope for us yet.

I do detect a real fear among many Voxers that McSame and Calamity Sarah will get in. I really don't understand how anyone could vote Republican after eight years of Dubya. That McSame and the pitbull are running as mavericks in an attempt to distance themselves from Bush is just laughable. Sort of like a Claytons Republican ticket. It amazes me that anyone could fall for it.

You have to give it to them, the Republicans are the absolute masters of spin. It's created miracles for them in the past decade...why wouldn't they keep at it? And the Democrats have dropped the ball in the past, too, just sort of sitting on their hands when the Republicans go after them.

With all this Palin hubbub, I am a little worried now. She's got all the crazy right-wingers jumping up out of their seats and cheering for her. I think there are a lot of people willing to vote for her, never mind McCain. I find the whole thing frightening. I can't handle another four years of this shit.

The right wing crazies were never going to vote for Obama anyway. It's the swinging voters who Obama needs to appeal to, and so long as he sticks to bread and butter issues, I think he'll attract the swingers. Iraq doesn't have nearly the same traction as it did four years ago, so McSames warrior credentials won't really cut it with voters trying to pay the bills. And what has Calamity really got to offer them? SFA.

Yes, but the right wingers were ambivalent before Palin...now they're all energized and charged up. They adore her. She's their new heroine. That's the part that frightens me...I think before her, they may have sat out the election in sizeable numbers. Now, I'm not so sure.

I really, really hope that the undecideds remember what Republicans have done for them and their economy for the past two terms, and I also hope they remember how wonderful the economy was under Clinton. Eight years of economic prosperity...the largest growth we've ever had in such a short period of time.

So much is riding on this election. Not the least of which is my own sanity.

Well, there's always Australia or Canada, although Canada looks like returning a conservative government there. Whatever are people smoking over there...
I think Farfaraway is right in that Pallin has energized those people who might not have voted this time. I have an in-laws (female) who would've voted for Hillary but when she didn't make the ticket they were on the fence and not really bothered about voting. Now Pallin has got her! She l-o-v-es her and yes will now be trotting out to vote. Did you see the Samatha Bee skit on the Daily Show where she said it is the "vagina factor" - sadly true!
So, no looking at policies or such nonsense, just personalities. Explains a lot about how conservatives get away with so much.in the U.S. The next Gallup poll will be interesting.
[this is good]
Thanks for the knowledge.
